Oct. 1, 2013 - Amaltal Atlantis, a 64-meter deep sea factory freezer trawler (twin trawl), part of the Talley's fleet.  According to the Talley's website these ships "go to sea for six weeks at a time with a crew of around 35 men and women. They process fish into fillets within hours of being caught, processing the catch onboard to customers specifications - frozen-at-sea fillet, block or head and gutted form. Onboard fishmeal plants process the waste product so everything is utilised."

Oct. 3, 2013 - Aleksandr Buryachenko, a Ukrainian factory trawler under charter to the Nelson-based Sealord Group.


Oct. 10, 2013 - Meridian 1, a factory trawler registered in Dominica under charter to the Nelson-based Sealord Group.

A person on the wharf said one of these vessels had gone fishing in the area of the Campbell Islands, about 700 km south of mainland New Zealand.
