Visiting the Lot

On March 31 with help from a friend I visited the lot to see the outcome of ACE's work.  A light rain the previous day kept the dust down, and as we arrived I spotted a squirrel crossing the lot.  ACE had removed all debris from the footprint area, the lot had been scraped and graded, and an arborist had marked trees for removal.  Some plants remained around the edges.  While there we also collected a couple of samples for USC Dornsife Public Exchange's Contaminant Level Evaluation and Analysis for Neighborhoods (CLEAN) program.
A bromeliad.
A giant coreopsis (Coreopsis gigantea) has sprouted in the area of the avocado tree.
