Emerson's Brewery Tour                                            

Richard Emerson started brewing in his mother's kitchen and opened Emerson's in 1992.  After operating from several locations, the brewery opened in its current location on Anzac Avenue in 2016.  Lion, which acquired Emerson's in 2012, markets their beers as "premium craft beers...with their hallmark in the intensity of flavour."
Gladfield Malt comes from grains grown on the Canterbury plains.  According to its website, Gladfield has a 500-acre farm near Dursandel and contracts with other growers as well, harvesting six grain types and producing more than 50 types of malted grains..
Sample kit notes "we use on ly 2-row barley varieties and our malt grains are fat and even, clean and bright.  The malt is free of dust and chaff, and smells sweet and fresh.  It tastes good and is crunchy."
KoppaFloc® uses carrageenan derived from seaweed to remove proteins and other charged particles from the wort, thereby improving clarity (the technical term is "flocculant").
Kettles.
New Zealand Hops Ltd., based in Nelson, is a major supplier of hops.  Their website describes Motueka™ as "an aroma hop with a distinctive fresh crushed citrus 'Mojito' lime character."
