Karitane: Huriawa Peninsula                                                                               

Taking the number 1 bus up State Highway 1 towards Palmerston, I got off at Karitane intending to go to the beach.  First, however, I diverted to walk the track out Huriawa Peninsula.  The scenery was interesting and informative signs explained the significance of the area to the Māori.
