The Leith (Owheo)                                                                               

Spur-winged plover (Vanellus miles).  White-faced heron (Egretta novaehollandiae).
Little shag | Kawaupaka (Microcarbo melanoleucos).  It was amazing to watch this bird zipping around under water, and at one point it caught a small fish.
