10 January - Volunteering motu mahi (island [motu] work [mahi]).  The day started by heading to Back Beach for a short ride on Rob Emett's "Adagio" water taxi to QIKT.  Due to the choppy water, Rob had to make several tries to pull up to the dock and moor at the Island.  At the end of the dock we found a small group of adolescent terns.
