Signs for ORC candidate Hilary Calvert
appeared starting the second week of
September. Calvert previously served one-term
on the ORC from 2019-22, but she did not seek
re-election. In 2013 she ran for Mayor,
finishing second and winning a seat on the
DCC. From 2010-11 she served as an a ACT

Even
without the reflections off the glass, this sign on
Princes Street could be confusing to some
voters. The ORC covers four constituencies:
Dunedin, Moeraki, Dunstan and Molyneux.
Calvert is running in Dunedin constituency, which
will elect five councilors (down from six).
Michael Laws and Gary Kelliher represent Dunstan
constituency and Nicky Rhodes is also running in
Dunstan constituency. Carmen Hope is running
in Molyneux constituency. The Vision Otago
manifesto targets "uncontrolled spending, neglected
infrastructure, and a lack of transparency" by
offering a "ten-point plan [that] focuses on
practical, common-sense solutions to reduce the
burden on ratepayers while delivering real,
measurable improvements for our region."
