Marilee's Lava - During the firing CO2 is released from the silicon carbide creating the lava effect.
a) experimented with varying amounts of silicon carbide (1, 2, 3.4 and 4.4 g) and from one to three coats applied;
b) with gloop interspersed (4.4 g silicon carbide).
