Dunedin Photographic Society Members' Exhibition

Dunedin Photographic Society Members' Exhibition - Dunedin Community Gallery - 21 to 26 October 2025.  The Dunedin Photographic Society is the oldest such organization in New Zealand, formed in 1890.

Meetings, featuring speakers and critiques of recent work (monthly projected image and a print competitions), are held on the 2nd and 4th Monday evening of each month at the Mornington Presbyterian Community Centre.  The 24 November meeting featured a) Terry Maguire, who joined DPS in 1957, served in many roles, and is a life member, reflecting on his 70 years in photography starting with a box Brownie, and b) an appraisal of prints brought in by eight members conducted by Henrik Moller. The four criteria used: 1) uniqueness/point of difference; 2) emotional response/aesthetics; 3) technique; and 4) story/subject.
