campus was quiet during summer break.

A plaque below states, "In the
1970's a young PhD student from University of
Otago, Denis Laurne, discovered a new compound
found in the leaves of Rimu trees.
Its unique chemical structure has four rings
sharing a central carbon atom and is called
fenestrane as it resembles a window with four
panes. The compound was subsequently
named Laurenene and its chemical structure is
depicted in the sign above."
