New Zealand Post reports it has over 7,000 employees and contractors and a workforce of 4,500.  As in other countries, the service is having to adjust to declines in mail volume as people use other means of communication (1, 2).

Dunedin City Council manages the city's water system.  Citycare Water is a company that started in Christchurch in 1999 and now constructs and maintains waste water, storm water and drinking water infrastructure around the country.

The Orbus system, managed by the Otago Regional Council, includes more than 20 bus lines in Dunedin and bus and ferry services in Queenstown.  Buses are operated by Go Bus (part of Kinetic group) and Ritchies.
Ritchies buses also move cruise ship passengers.

InterCity (owned by Entrada Travel Group) is "New Zealand's #1 National Bus Network."
