At the end of July 1990, on the Students for Solidarity and Democracy in Eastern Europe trip to Poland, we visited the Port of Gdańsk, Gdańsk Shipyard, and historic Gdańsk.

Gdańsk Shipyard

Sołdek, an 87-meter long coal and iron ore freighter, was the first ship built in Gdańsk after World War II.  It served from 1949-1981.
