Yosemite is the third most visited National Park after the Great Smoky Mountains and the Grand Canyon. In 2016, Park officials reported 5,028,868 recreation visitors, significantly up from the previous record of 4,150,217 in 2015 (>).

The Ahwahnee Hotel, now called the "Majestic Yosemite."  In June 2015 the National Park Service announced it had selected Yosemite Hospitality, LLC, a subsidiary of Aramark, as the concessionaire for visitor services in Yosemite effective March 2016 (+).  The concessionaire at the time, DNC Parks & Resorts at Yosemite, Inc., a subsidiary of Delaware North Parks & Resorts, Inc., filed suit in Sept. 2015 charging breach of contract.  A key issue is "intangible assets such as registered and unregistered trademarks, servicemarks, and logos."
